Overview
The story takes place in the near future on a different world also referred to as Earth. In this universe, every human is born with a soul weapon which can be called upon at will by its owner. These weapons come in various shapes and sizes that change with the owners personality and karma. Soul weapons wield incredible powers, and no two are exactly alike; also some are inherently stronger than others, and under most circumstances, they cannot break. In addition, they are not restricted to being tools of war, they are often tools and instruments such as a compass or a guitar. Sometimes, at a certain point in the hosts life (varies between people) the weapon will evolve into one of 12 different classes, each possessing unique and defining characteristics, depending on the current characteristics of the user. This transformation is permanent and the weapon can never revert back into its original form, nor can it turn into another class. There are six positive transformations (meaning that the user has good karma) and six negative transformations (the opposite). In the current time period, discrimination against those in the negative six is a major problem, especially for those who have changed personas after their weapons transformed - a former villain turned good.

In this world there are six classes of beings: animals, humans, followers, demigods, gods and grand deus. The status of human is self explanatory, so I will move onto explaining the classes of: follower, demigod, god and grand deus. The best definition for a follower is an angel or a demon. They are beings that are no longer mortal, but have not attained divinity. They are not souls, but rather beings formed from the amalgamation of energy in an organized fashion. On average, they tend to much more powerful than humans, but weaker than demigods and gods. However, there can be exceptions to this rule depending on the quality and quantity of energy used to create the follower. A demigod is a human who has some quantity of divinity within his soul. Contrary to popular belief, he does not have to be the offspring of a god so long as there is some divine aspect on his or her soul. A god is similar to the divinity in Greek mythology. They are incredibly powerful beings who never age and bear complete rule over a certain aspect of the world. They reside in the dimension known as Kether, the very top of the Sephirot, whereas humanity, and thus Earth, reside in Yesod, the ninth branch of the Tree of Life. These beings are charged with making sure the universe is in balance and can move freely between the 10 dimensions of the Sephirot. While these beings are incredibly powerful, they are NOT immortal. They can be killed and their power is limited. Lastly, the grand deus are the eldest beings in existence who originally created the Sephirot. These beings are similar to the gods in that they maintain some aspect of the universe, but they are immortal and cannot be interfered with by any other being. Two examples of grand deus are Death and Fate. Also, the grand deus exist in dimensions which cannot be accessed by any other being, and they rarely interact with the gods.
Long ago, not long after the grand deus created the Sephirot and the gods, the first being they created, known as the Original One, turned rogue and betrayed the other gods in the hopes of ruling over all of the universe. He sought to declare himself as the strongest being in existence in order to satisfy his own pride. He attacked the other gods and an epic battle ensued. The Original One managed to slay half of the gods, including the sun god: Helios, before he was finally defeated. The current leader of the gods, Leonid (God of Heaven/Kether), borrowed the power of Gaia, goddess of matter (now referred to as Earth), and created the Earth as a prison for the Original One. The blood of the fallen gods that had been spilled in Kether fell onto the new born planet and from it all mortal life was born. That is how the modern world came into existence. After some time, the Original One's residual negative karma began to leak out from its prison and infect the humans on Earth, eventually becoming a part of their soul's nature. This was how evil became a natural characteristic of humanity. In the modern day, the Original One feeds off of the negative karma produced by humans in order to regain his lost power. The gods became aware of this and many immediately opted that humanity be eliminated, however there were also many who opposed this movement, arguing that humanity could be used to help fight against the Original One and finally slay him, and that not all humans were evil. In order to settle this disagreement, Leonid proposed that every two thousand years until the Original One's return, the gods would send their 10 most elite servants, The Reapers (whose power is on par with that of the gods), to Earth with the mission of wiping out humanity. However, 10 humans would receive the blessings of specific gods, those who rule over the 10 dimensions of the Sephirot (in other words each of the ten chosen human represents a different dimension and element). These ten humans would have all limits on their potential removed and given the chance to attain incredible power. When these ten warriors unite, they are known as the Sephirot. However, in order to further challenge the humans, Leonid made it so that one member would always betray the Sephirot. So far, the Sephirot has succeeded in defeating the Reapers twice, and the story focuses on the final test for humanity before the revival of the Original One.
